This ensemble notably features the iconic "DD" emblem on the chest, marking the first time this symbol has appeared prominently in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's depiction of Daredevil.

The introduction of the black suit has ignited discussions among fans and critics regarding its potential narrative implications. In Marvel Comics, Daredevil has donned a black costume during significant story arcs. One notable instance is the "Shadowland" storyline, where Matt Murdock, under the influence of a demonic entity known as The Beast, leads the ninja clan The Hand. However, this supernatural plotline seems less likely to be adapted into the grounded tone of the series.

A more plausible inspiration for the black suit in Born Again Season 2 is the comic run by writer Charles Soule. In this arc, Daredevil confronts Wilson Fisk's ambitions to become the mayor of New York City. This storyline also introduces the psychopathic artist and serial killer Muse, who has already made his debut in the fourth episode of the series.

The decision to incorporate the "DD" logo aligns with fans' longstanding desire to see a more comic-accurate representation of Daredevil's attire. Previous iterations, including the Netflix series and appearances in the MCU, have omitted this emblem. The addition of the logo, combined with the sleek black design, suggests a fresh direction for the character's visual identity in the upcoming season.
